and the totally fun MoMA Talk to Me show.
MoMA!!!
A day at MoMA with Kate. We saw the new Willem de Kooning show – I love his paintings. Here I am with one of my favorites. I like how he uses color.
Phantom with Lauren!
Speaking of Broadway, a wonderful organization that works with people with disabilities, called Chai Lifeline, invited many of us to a wonderful matinee of Phantom of the Opera. It was amazing. Here I am with Lauren Plunka, my newest support person.
“They Say the Neon Lights Are Bright…”
And here's another photo of me, my dad Fred, and Kate outside the Broadway theater where Daniel's Music Foundation performed. If you don't know about this great group, check them out: http://www.danielsmusic.org/
DMF and The Yankees
In July, Daniel's Music Foundation –where I take music classes — had a chance to perform on Broadway. The Yankees charity, called Hope, sponsored the event, and as a surprise gave $10,000 to the foundation. It was an incredible experience. Here are pictures of me and Kate, my support person who was with me all day, coming out the stage door, and another with Kate and my dad Fred.
Summertime Fun!
This summer, I went to Maine with my parents, my aunt, and my cousins for a week and a half. (My cousin Lily and I worked on another music video, from Grease… not ready yet). After that, I took a trip to San Francisco for a week with an organization called Kids of Courage. One of the most amazing things I did there was pet a real-life elephant! Even though I was nervous and scared, I was excited at the same time. Unfortunately, I got sick a few days into the trip and ended up in the infirmary. However, I got a bouquet of flowers from Zac Efron!!!! The only problem with that, was that it didn’t come with any card, but it was still amazing. Even though I got sick, I had a really great time on the trip. I am glad to be home, though.
Graduation
Last week there was a graduation banquet for the school I have been at for the last two years. It was really a wonderful event, except I am a little sad to be finishing this great program. Here is a picture of me and my mom at the banquet, and another of me and Maya.
I will be continuing to work at the occupational therapy center, SPOTS, as well as the self-advocacy group, SANYS.
My cousin’s picture in Metro News
My cousin Steve took some pictures of Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street, and one got published in Metro News on Earth Day! I think Steve is a really really great photographer and he has taken some really great family pictures over the holidays. And I also want to congratulate him on doing such an awesome job on taking this picture of Oscar the Grouch.
I went to visit my friend Jamie today in the hospital who's been there for 80 days. She had some surgery, and she's in great spirits. I just found out from her that there are Gilmore girl books. She lent me the t.v. show The Flying Nun with Sally Field. It was so great to see Jamie today, and watch this show.
Blue Genes 2010
The Fourth Annual Blue Genes event was held at The Lighthouse on October 17th, 2010. I went with my cousins, my parents, and lots of other friends. We were honoring Dr. Felicia Axelrod, who is an amazing doctor. She has devoted 40 years of her life to FD research. My cousin Lily and I were in the fashion show at the event and the best part was that I got to keep the cute blue dress that I wore. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the night!
