The Fourth Annual Blue Genes event was held at The Lighthouse on October 17th, 2010. I went with my cousins, my parents, and lots of other friends. We were honoring Dr. Felicia Axelrod, who is an amazing doctor. She has devoted 40 years of her life to FD research. My cousin Lily and I were in the fashion show at the event and the best part was that I got to keep the cute blue dress that I wore. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the night!

Blue Genes Fashion Show raises $250,000 for FD research

The fundraiser was great. We raised a quarter million dollars! I was in the fashion show. My Mom bought this outfit for me: pink tie-dye shirt and dark pink pants.

Sonia and Lily sang two songs: "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "Forever in Blue Jeans."  I introduced them:

"Two amazing vocalists who have performed in New York City and New England and I share my best genes with them. Please help me welcome my cousins Sonia and Lily Szajnberg."

They sang without accompaniment, just them. My cousin Steve took a lot of pictures.

One of my teachers came to the event, which was incredible. She was really impressed. She had a lot of fun. Dr. Axelrod came too, which was really amazing.

I came home around 8:00. I was really tired.

Student of the month

Award I made student of the month in November 2005. How did I find out? Actually, we were on our way to Washington in the car and one of my teachers called me on my cell phone. And, she told me I made student of the month. I was so happy! I said, "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" My parents were really proud of me. I got a certificate for that too and it is hanging in my room. To get student of the month I had to work really hard. I had to keep on doing my best. I just have to keep trying at school. The hardest part is history. I got this award not only for being a good student but also for all my work on the bake sales for raising money for Katrina.
